Woodturning a Bud Vase and a Pen 1 Day Course

This course is an opportunity to learn or improve your understanding of basic woodturning techniques and tools as you’re guided through the process of turning a delicate bud vase and an eye-catching wooden ballpoint pen. Equipped with all necessary tools and safety gear, you will be supported through each step, ensuring that you not only enjoy but also understand the techniques involved. 

The day is designed to be both educational and enjoyable, leaving you with two handcrafted items to proudly display or gift to some other lucky person.

So whether you’ve already tried woodturning or you’re just starting, this one day course offers a refreshing escape from your normal routine and a chance to create some truly personal things.

Our Facilities

The workshop provides individual lathes, complete sets of turning tools, safety gear, and all necessary materials for each student.

Located in a courtyard surrounded by other craftspeople and artists it is a welcoming, relaxing environment for visitors.

Other amenities include a generous car park and accessible toilets.

Lunch

If you’re coming for the whole day lunch will be provided in the form of a selection of sandwiches from Warings, the local award winning bakery.

If you have any food allergies, intolerances or dietary preferences e.g. vegetarian, please let us know. There will also be tea, coffee and water available through the day but feel free to bring your own snacks and/or a water bottle.

The workshop is based in Berkshire, within easy reach of Reading, Hampshire and Oxfordshire.

With free on-site parking and a peaceful rural setting, it’s a calm and inspiring place to learn.

By Bus:
Take the 2 or 2a bus from Reading and get off at the Amners Farm Road stop. From the bus stop it is a 5 minute walk to the workshop.
