What will make your session special?

Beginner-Friendly Instruction: This course is perfect for ages 12 and over, with no prior experience needed. Please note children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Expert Guidance: Learn from an experienced, accredited woodturning tutor. Discover or develop your woodturning skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Sustainably Sourced Wood: Use high-quality, local timber.

Work with your hands: Craft your own unique wooden mushroom

Group discounts apply automatically. The more people you book with, the lower the per-person price, while keeping group sizes small for plenty of hands-on tuition.

Leave at the end of your 2 hour session with some wonderful memories and a wooden mushroom handmade by you!

Our Facilities

The workshop provides individual lathes, complete sets of turning tools, safety gear, and all necessary materials for each student.

Located in a courtyard surrounded by other craftspeople and artists it is a welcoming, relaxing environment for visitors.

Other amenities include a generous car park and accessible toilets.

Lunch

If you’re coming for the whole day lunch will be provided in the form of a selection of sandwiches from Warings, the local award winning bakery.

If you have any food allergies, intolerances or dietary preferences e.g. vegetarian, please let us know. There will also be tea, coffee and water available through the day but feel free to bring your own snacks and/or a water bottle.

What You’ll Make

Depending on the course, you might create:

  • A wooden bowl shaped by your own hands
  • A bud vase perfect for seasonal flowers
  • A handcrafted pen or small gift

Each piece is completely unique — and yours to take home.

The workshop is based in Berkshire, within easy reach of Reading, Hampshire and Oxfordshire.

With free on-site parking and a peaceful rural setting, it’s a calm and inspiring place to learn.

By Bus:
Take the 2 or 2a bus from Reading and get off at the Amners Farm Road stop. From the bus stop it is a 5 minute walk to the workshop.
