The Goldilocks Bowl*

Meet the Goldilocks bowl. This wooden dish is ‘just right’ for porridge and other warm or cold breakfast cereals. Wood’s a great insulator so it protects your hands from hot food whilst keeping your bowl’s contents warm. It’s so relaxing to eat from as the oval shape allows it to sit comfortably in your hand. It’s also the perfect buddha, soup or smoothie bowl.

The oval shape is created naturally. The timber is cut in such a way that, after it’s turned round and left to season, as it dries it shrinks more one way than the other. This causes it to eventually settle in an organic, oval shape.

Description

sustainable

These oval wooden food bowls are made from sustainable timber from a single tree – the One Ash tree . Each one’s hand turned whilst still fresh. Then as it dries it settles into a uniquely natural shape. To show its provenance the base is hand burnt with a unique number (see photo).

personalisable

Historically, people had their own bowl which was a treasured possession used for many years. To make yours extra special have a name or initials hand burnt into the wood. Please specify your chosen name or initials in the ‘personalisation’ box at checkout.

organic

Wooden food bowls are finished with sustainable hemp seed oil. It’s a locally produced, 100% organic cold pressed oil that’s heated to 190 degrees c to insure it really penetrates into the grain. It has a distinctive nutty flavour and smell similar to sunflower seeds. This will be quite prominent when the bowl’s new but will fade over time with repeated washings.

PROCESSING AND DELIVERY TIMES

There’s currently 2 weeks processing time plus 2-4 days for standard delivery. If you prefer, there’s the option to upgrade to 1st class delivery at the checkout.

All packaging is plastic free. Items are wrapped in recycled tissue paper and shipped in a recycled & recyclable postal box secured with paper tape.

I was delighted to find the two bowls I bought stack neatly inside each other. They feel lovely and make breakfast a bit more special.
